Rosey rams Spike’s head into the table repeatedly only for Spike to avoid a charge and Rosey crashes through the table though he no-sells it, and he slams the broken table onto Spike as Bubba gets in the ring only for Rosey to hit a spinebuster and Jeff goes up top. Rosey botches a catch attempt and Jeff falls to the mat as Rosey hits a big splash and Rico gets in the ring where he stomps on Bubba repeatedly, and Jamal brings another table into the ring as Rico and Rosey send Bubba and Jeff to the outside and Rico sets the table up. Spike blocks a suplex attempt and Rico pounds on him though Spike again blocks the suplex and looks for the Dudley Dog, but 3-Minute Warning grab him and hit a double flapjack through the table in a nasty spot and Spike is eliminated. Jamal knocks Jeff to the floor and Bubba goes up himself as he hits a back superplex on Rico though Jamal pulls the table away in time, and Jeff pounds on Jamal who reverses a whip as Jeff goes up top and hits Whisper in the Wind on Jamal. Jamal reverses a whip and presses Jeff up only for Jeff to hit a dropkick and both men go outside as Jeff grabs a table and tosses it at Jamal, and he climbs onto the barricade and runs on it though he loses his balance and Jamal holds the table up with Jeff crashing through it. Jamal grabs another table and sets it up as he puts Jeff on it and gets in the ring before catching Bubba with a back elbow, and he goes up top and hits the big splash which puts Jeff through the table and eliminates him as Rico pounds on Bubba who ducks a shot. He pounds on Rico and knocks him down as he puts him on another table and goes up to the middle rope only for Jamal to nail him first, and Jamal pushes Rico off the table and goes up himself only for Bubba to hit a powerbomb that puts Jamal through the table and eliminates him. Rico stomps on Bubba repeatedly and calls out for Rosey as he pounds on Bubba before going outside and he grabs another table, and he brings it into the ring and sets it up as Rosey also gets in the ring and stomps on Bubba who battles back. Just then, D-Von Dudley runs down to the ring and attacks all three men as he hits a clothesline on Jamal and sends Rosey over the top to the floor, and then he throws Jamal over the top to the floor and moves the table as the Dudleyz hit the 3-D on Rico putting him through the table and Bubba wins the match. The match itself was good as both teams worked hard and put on a fun, somewhat sloppy match. The Dudleys and Jeff looked good as a unit while 3-Minute Warning and Rico were gelling as a unit, and they had good chemistry with the highlight being D-Von coming out and seemingly reuniting with Bubba. The crowd was into the match and popped for Bubba when he won. The Dudleys and Jeff get the win over 3-Minute Warning and Rico as both teams move on. Grade: 3

He says that real intelligence is something he has and it’s not something you buy like the Yankees bought all their World Series titles, and he says that you either have intelligence or you don’t as he says everyone here doesn’t. He says that people say New York is #1 and he says that it is #1 in stupidity as Matt Hardy comes down to the ring, and he asks who Nowinski thinks he is as he says that he wants to tell him that New Yorkers are not stupid. He says that they would be classified as losers as he expected this building to be overflowing with Mattitude, and he says that the fans are sucking the Mattitude out of him and he is choking worse than the Knicks. He says that he used to think New Yorkers were cool though now he just sees them as losers, and Nowinski says that the fans are not losers in that they are too stupid to know any better. Matt says he disagrees as he points at a fan at ringside and calls him a loser as Nowinski asks the fans if they are stupid or losers, and Matt says that this has to end and he says they can agree that the fans are losers and stupid, or “loopid” which Nowinski agrees with and they raise hands as Matt says RAW and Smackdown Superstars can get along. Just then, Scott Steiner comes down to the ring to a big pop and Matt shoves Nowinski into a clothesline from Steiner, and Matt pounds on Steiner who no-sells his shots and he hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Matt. He kicks at Nowinski and hits another suplex as he pounds on Matt and hits a spinning belly-to-belly suplex, and he throws Nowinski over the top to the floor and then he presses Matt up as he tosses him onto Nowinski on the floor. He takes the mike and says that this goes out to all his freaks in NYC as Big Poppa Pump is your hookup, and he says holla if you hear him and he heads to the back.

Return: We last saw Scott Steiner on WWE PPV way back at the 1994 Royal Rumble as he would last until the summer with his brother Rick until they left in June, and they would work in Japan and also had a brief run in ECW before returning to WCW in 1996 where they won the tag titles. They would feud with the Outsiders until Scott turned heel in 1998 and joined the New World Order as he would dye his hair blond, bulked up, and gave himself the nickname “Big Poppa Pump”, and he would feud with Rick throughout 1998 and would win the TV Title and US Title on multiple occasions. He would join the New Blood in 2000 and would win the WCW Title in November as he would hold it until losing it to Booker T on the final Nitro in March 2001, and he would choose to wait out his Time Warner contract and worked in World Wrestling All-Stars when he won the World Title. Over the fall, he would sign with WWE and vignettes began playing on both shows with the GMs each vowing to have Steiner sign with them though he makes his unannounced PPV return here.

Heel Turn/Character Change: On the 8/12 RAW, Matt Hardy would cost his brother Jeff a chance to challenge for the IC Title which turned him heel and later that week, he would join Smackdown and over the weeks, he would become more delusional as he referred to himself as Matt Hardy, Version One and promoted his own lifestyle dubbed “Mattitude”.

We see a shot outside Madison Square Garden.

We see the Elimination Chamber being lowered around the ring.

Terri Runnels attempts to interview Shawn Michaels, but we are interrupted by an RNN report as Randy Orton appears and says that he wanted to take some time from his rehab to come to Survivor Series. He says that there was no extra damage done to his shoulder on the flight thanks to a sexy flight attendant who gave him an extra pillow, and he says that he wants to thank everyone for their emails and implores them to keep sending them as he knows he will be back in no time.

Debut: Randy Orton is the son of “Cowboy” Bob Orton and the grandson of Bob Orton Sr. as he would wrestle in school and also served in the Marines though he would serve time in a brig after going AWOL and was dishonorably discharged, and he would decide to follow in his family’s footsteps and trained to be a wrestler under his father as he worked in his promotion in St. Louis. In 2000, he would sign with WWE and was moved to OVW where he won the Hardcore Title twice and also competed in dark matches throughout 2001, and in 2002 he would called up to the main roster and debuted on the 4/25 Smackdown defeating Hardcore Holly. He would mainly work on Velocity before being moved over to RAW and competed in the midcard before suffering a shoulder injury, and he would slowly turn heel by becoming very arrogant and conceited as he makes his PPV debut here.

We see the buildup to the main event.

Jonathan Coachman interviews Triple H, who says that he was awarded the World Title because he is the best and he has proven that in the last three months, and he says that it wasn’t good enough because he’s the object of a lot of envy and inside the Elimination Chamber, he will face 5 of the best ever in the business. He says that when it’s over, he will leave Madison Square Garden still the best and still the World Heavyweight Champion, and he says that he has a one-way ticket to Hell and he wants to know who’s coming with him.

Eric Bischoff comes down to the ring and says that he is back in Madison Square Garden and he is making history with a match that could only come from his mind, and he says that the Elimination Chamber has 2 miles of chain and over 10 tons of steel designed to punish the human body as in a second, 6 men will compete in this match for the World Heavyweight Championship. He then runs down the rules as he says the first four men to come out will be confined to an internal chamber surrounded by bulletproof plexiglass and steel, and he says every 5 minutes a chamber will be opened at random and the last two men to come out will start the match. He says the only way to be eliminated is by pinfall or submission and the last man standing will be the World Heavyweight Champion.

In the main event, Kane defeated Triple H in a casket match after Michaels got involved and attacked Triple H, and on the 11/4 RAW Triple H called out Michaels only for Booker to come out and they had a back and forth until Jericho interrupted and attacked Booker along with Triple H until Kane made the save. Grade: 4.5

After the match, Michaels celebrates with the title and confetti falls throughout the arena as we go off the air.

Final Analysis: Overall, this edition of Survivor Series was a great show as both brands delivered in a big way and put on a fantastic show. The build to this show was done very well across both brands and there was some really good hype for it, and in the end the show delivered in spades and both brands were on par with each other though you could argue RAW slightly outshone Smackdown. Michaels and Show are now the top guys on their brands while Los Guerreros, Victoria, and Kidman rule their divisions and the Dudleys and Jeff also get a big win, and in terms of the matches the last two matches were the best with everything else being good and nothing was bad while the MSG crowd was hot all night. 2002 has been a great year for the company as the fall has been a lot better than usual with both brands on fire, and we will see if they can end the year on a high note with one PPV left to go. As for this show, it is a fantastic show and one of the best Survivor Series shows in history. Final Grade: A
