The match itself was good as both teams worked hard and put on a decent tag match. Mysterio and Kidman still look great as a team while Tajiri and Nunzio looked decent as a team, and they had good chemistry as Tajiri gets a clean win over Mysterio. The crowd was into the match and Mysterio and Kidman, but are not happy when Tajiri and Nunzio win. Tajiri and Nunzio get the win over Mysterio and Kidman as both teams move on. Grade: 2

We see Vince McMahon, Sable, and the Big Show in Vince’s office as Vince is on the phone with someone until Stephanie McMahon walks in, and Vince says that she must be taking her job as GM very seriously and she says she is as she asks if he’s proud of himself about what happened to Zach Gowen last week. She says that Vince ordered Gowen to the arena under threat of termination only to feed him to Brock Lesnar as Vince says that he’s not capable of something like that, and he says that Lesnar went into business for himself and Stephanie says she’s not gullible as she doesn’t believe a word he says. She says that she knows he unleashed the animal in Lesnar and that he doesn’t care about Gowen as he loves what Lesnar is doing, and she says that Lesnar is a liability to Smackdown and should be in jail as everything he does is criminal. Just then, Brock Lesnar comes up behind her and Stephanie reminds him that he tapped out to Angle as he says that he will beat Angle in the Ironman match next week, and he says that he will be a 3-time WWE Champion as Vince reminds him who he is talking to and Lesnar says that he needs a warmup match for tonight. He says that he has a great idea in that he can face Angle, the Undertaker, and Gowen in a handicap match as Show says he’s too much, and Stephanie says that Lesnar knows none of them are here tonight because of what Lesnar did and Lesnar says that he still needs to wrestle tonight. He says that he needs to fight someone that will test him as he and Show have history and he already fought Vince in a cage, and he says that he’s wrestled everyone in this room except for Stephanie and Vince says he can’t be serious as Lesnar says it would be a great challenge. Vince says that they should think about the box office and the ratings this could bring as he likes the idea, and he says that she could get out of this match by quitting as GM and she has a big decision to make as she walks away.

Final Analysis: Overall, this edition of Smackdown was a pretty solid edition even though it was only a 90-minute edition of the show. Given the cut in time, it did feel like they were more streamlined and didn’t waste a lot of time as we got a good amount of matches and very little fluff backstage. We had no title matches as Tajiri, Nunzio, Shaniqua, Benoit, Eddie, and the APA get big wins, and in terms of the matches the Parking Lot Brawl was easily the best while the rest of the show focused on the Ironman match next week. 2003 has been a very good year for Smackdown as they were still consistently better than RAW and we will see if next week’s show pays off with how hyped the Ironman match has been. As for this show, it is a pretty solid show as we continue through the month of September. Final Grade: B-
