Analysis: We kick off this big PPV with our first title match of the night. Christian has been rolling as European Champion and faces a tough challenge here in Snow, who had been working on Tough Enough and looks to become champion again. Snow gets a decent pop from the crowd while Christian was pretty hot as a heel. Snow ducks a shot and trips Christian up to start the match as he rides him on the mat and hooks a headlock, and he knocks Christian down for a two count and ducks a shot as he hooks a rollup for a two count and Christian stalls in the corner. Snow escapes a slam attempt and hits the Snow Plow for a two count as Christian gets his foot on the rope, and he rolls outside to regroup and Snow chases him back into the ring as Christian catches him coming in with a kick and hits the Unprettier which gets the three and he retains the title. The match itself was solid as both men worked hard and put on a solid title match. Snow was still pretty serviceable by this point while Christian was hitting his groove as well, and they had good chemistry as Christian gets a clean title defense. The crowd was into the match and Snow, but are not happy when Christian wins. Christian retains the title over Snow and both men move on. Grade: 2.5

We see Steve Austin and Debra walking down the hallway to their dressing room where the rest of Team Alliance is as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley asks why he wasn’t returning their calls, and he says he didn’t want to and she says that they need to know if Austin is really turning as she brings up what happened on Smackdown. She says that they have everything riding on this match and Austin says he’s not jumping as he calls them out for worrying about their jobs, and Shane says they put everything into this and Austin is supposed to be the leader though he is now suspect. Angle says he should be the leader and Shane says everything is on the line as RVD declares himself to be the leader as does Booker, and Austin says everyone needs to stop being paranoid and follow the leader as he will take down the WWF even if he has to do it himself and they leave.

We see Vince and Linda McMahon backstage as Vince says before they head into the arena, he lets her know that they can’t put everything on the line while having concern and she says that the stakes are too high and she can’t help but be concerned. He says that this may be crude but in a situation like this, there’s an old expression in that shit happens and they need to prepare for anything, but then Michael Cole comes up to them for an interview as Vince says that Cole seems concerned. He says that they could be out of a job if the WWF loses, but he says that the WWF will win as he build an empire and he did it by taking risks as he always has an ace in the hole and his 6 team members will beat the 4 team members of the Alliance which he guarantees. Just then, Commissioner Regal comes up to them and says that he wants Vince to know that he doesn’t buy Vince’s games, and he says that Austin is loyal to the Alliance and he will take pleasure in watching everything Vince worked for go down the toilet as the Alliance will destroy the WWF like he will do to Tajiri and he is looking forward to RAW tomorrow to see them humiliated.

We see a shot outside the Greensboro Coliseum.

We see highlights from Smackdown 3 nights ago.

2. William Regal pins Tajiri with a double underhook powerbomb at 2:58.

Title Change: On the 10/22 RAW, Tajiri defeated Billy Kidman to win the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

The Buildup: On the 11/1 Smackdown, Regal told Tajiri that he is proud of what he has done and offered Tajiri a spot in the Alliance though Tajiri refused, and Regal would attack Tajiri who kicked him in the head which led to a match between the two that night with Regal winning and he beat Tajiri down after the match. On the 11/5 RAW, Tajiri attacked Regal during a match only for Regal to give him the double underhook powerbomb on the floor, and on the 11/12 RAW Tajiri would cost Regal a match against the Rock by spewing the green mist in his face as this match was made. On the 11/15 Smackdown, Regal and Ivory defeated Tajiri and Wilson in a tag match when Regal made Wilson tap out.

Analysis: Our next match on the card is a pretty big matchup. After being allies for most of the year, Tajiri and Regal have split due to Regal joining the Alliance and now they face off here to settle their issues. Tajiri gets a good pop from the crowd while Regal was pretty hot as a heel. The two men square off to start as Tajiri gets a series of kicks in until Regal catches a kick attempt and nails Tajiri, but Tajiri hits a superkick on Regal who hoists him onto his shoulders and he hits a rolling senton before stomping on Tajiri. He rams the knee into Tajiri repeatedly and hits a running kneelift as he is bleeding from the nose and Tajiri ducks a shot, and he hits a dropkick to Regal’s knee and kicks at him repeatedly until Regal pounds on him and catches a kick attempt. They jockey for position until Regal whips Tajiri into the corner and Tajiri avoids a shot as he hooks the Tarantula on Regal, and Regal reverses a whip and Tajiri hits the handspring elbow for a two count as Regal sends him into the ropes with Tajiri getting his head trapped in the ropes. Regal goes outside and pulls at Tajiri’s legs to choke him as the ref frees Tajiri from the ropes and Tajiri escapes a double underhook powerbomb with an armdrag, and he kicks Regal in the head though Regal avoids a second kick and headbutts Tajiri in the ribs before hitting the double underhook powerbomb which gets the three and he wins the match. The match itself was good as both men worked hard and put on a decent match for the time they got. Regal was hitting his groove by this point while Tajiri was also getting into a groove, and they had good chemistry as Regal ends up getting the quick win. The crowd was into the match and Tajiri, but are not happy when Regal wins. Regal gets the win over Tajiri and both men move on. Grade: 1.5

After the match, Regal starts to head to the back before returning to the ring as he hits a second double underhook powerbomb on Tajiri, and he heads to the back as Torrie Wilson runs down to the ring to check on Tajiri only for Regal to return to the ring as he grabs Wilson and hits the double underhook powerbomb on her.

We see the buildup to the next match.

Jonathan Coachman interviews Edge, who says that it seems pretty even on paper between him and Test though the difference is Test has been dumped by every chick on the planet, and he says that he’ll be hearing Test complain after he loses.

The match itself was very good as both teams worked hard and put on a solid title match. Both teams were hitting their stride by this point and still had great chemistry as it was good to have them in a different gimmick match like the cage, and the Dudleyz end up getting the win when Jeff tries for it all only to crash and burn. The crowd was into the match and the Hardyz, but are not happy when the Dudleyz win. The Dudleyz get the win over the Hardyz and unify the tag titles as both teams move on. Grade: 4

Bradshaw backdrops Storm over the top and Storm lands on the apron only for Test to knock Bradshaw over the top as both men fall to the floor and are eliminated, and Gunn ducks the big boot and gets a kick in only for Test to hit the big boot which eliminates Gunn and Test wins the match. The match itself was good as everyone worked hard and put on a pretty solid battle royal. Everyone looked good with a few getting a little bit of time to shine, but once Test got in the match you knew he was probably going to win. The crowd was into the match though are not happy when Test wins. Test wins the battle royal and is guaranteed a job for a year as everyone moves on. Grade: 2.5

We see Shane McMahon and Booker T in the hallway as Booker says that he trusts Shane though he doesn’t trust Austin, and he says that Austin’s motto is not to trust anyone and he’s been with the Alliance since the beginning as he doesn’t want to lose his job because of Austin. Shane says that they have everything on the line tonight though he believes Austin is the guy that will lead them, and he says that they have to stay together as a team or they don’t have a shot as Booker says he hopes Shane’s right.

6. Trish Stratus defeats Lita, Jacqueline, Ivory, Mighty Molly, and Jazz in a 6-Pack Challenge when she pins Ivory at 4:23 to win the vacant WWF Women’s Championship.

Debut: Carlene Moore grew up a wrestling fan and dropped out of college to train to be a wrestler in 1998, and she would join ECW as part of the Impact Players as Jazzmine before shortening her name to Jazz as she would turn face and compete against men regularly. She would stay with the company until it closed in 2001 and she would sign with the WWF as she would spend time in OVW training, and she makes her surprise PPV debut here.

The Buildup: On the 10/22 RAW, Lita and Stratus defeated Ivory and Molly in a tag match and on the 10/25 Smackdown, Stratus defeated Molly and on the 11/5 RAW, Ivory defeated Lita and on the 11/15 Smackdown, this match was announced to crown a new Women’s Champion as the title was officially declared vacant.

Analysis: Our last match before the main event is our fourth and final title match of the night. After being inactive since May, the Women’s Title is brought back as these six women face off here to determine a new champion. Stratus, Lita, and Jacqueline get a good pop from the crowd while Ivory, Molly, and the debuting Jazz had decent heat as heels. Jazz wastes no time and hits a sidewalk slam on Lita to start the match as she stomps on her and hits a double underhook suplex, and she stomps on Lita and pounds on her as Lita hits a headscissors and Molly tags in as does Jacqueline. Molly challenges her to a test of strength and Jacqueline accepts as she gets a kick in and trips Molly up for a one count, and she ducks a shot and pounds on Molly who knocks her down as Jacqueline leaps over her and hits a hiptoss. She hits a dropkick on Molly as Ivory tags in only for Jacqueline to hit another dropkick and Ivory reverses a whip though Jacqueline hooks a sunset flip for a two count, and they trade pin attempts until Ivory slingshots Jacqueline throat first into the middle rope and Stratus tags in. Ivory ducks a shot and Stratus trips her up as she slingshots Ivory into the ropes and then she hits a flapjack, but Molly gets a knee in from the apron and Ivory kicks at Stratus before pounding on her and she knocks Lita to the floor. Jazz and Molly come in as the three beat on Stratus until Lita and Jacqueline come in and all six women brawl, and Lita and Jacqueline hit a double clothesline on Ivory and Lita whips Jazz into the corner as they hit Poetry in Motion on Jazz. Lita whips Molly into the corner and they again look for Poetry in Motion only for Jacqueline to hit a clothesline on Lita, and Molly goes up top and hits the Molly-Go-Round on Jacqueline as Stratus kicks Molly to the mat and Ivory gets a kick in before hitting the facebuster on Stratus. Lita gets a kick in and hits the Twist of Fate on Ivory as she goes up top and hits the moonsault for a two count as Jazz breaks it up, and she and Molly attack Lita who ducks a double clothesline and hits one of her own as she pounds on both women. She sends Molly to the outside and Jazz rakes the eyes as she pounds on Lita and whips her into Stratus who backdrops her over the top to the floor, and Jazz charges only for Stratus to pull the rope down as Jazz tumbles through the ropes onto Lita and Jacqueline on the floor. Ivory gets a kick in though Stratus escapes a back suplex attempt and hits the Stratusfaction which gets the three and we have a new champion. The match itself was decent as all 6 women worked hard and put on a basic title match. All 6 women looked decent and they had good chemistry as this was a good introduction to Jazz, but the ending was a bit of a surprise as I don’t think many expected Stratus to win. The crowd was into the match and popped for Stratus when she won. Stratus gets the win and is the new Women’s Champion as all 6 women move on. Grade: 1.5

Vince McMahon is with Team WWF as he says that he wants to get some things off his chest in that he has all the confidence that they will win, and he says that he realizes that he could be looking at a group of losers and if they were to lose, he wants them to remember that there isn’t one WWF fan in the world that would forgive them. He says that should they lose, they will be personally and professionally disgraced and they will be ridiculed by their peers and families, and he says that if they lose it would look bad on those that preceded them including Buddy Rogers, Dr. Jerry Graham, Gorilla Monsoon, Andre the Giant, and Peter Miavia. He says that everyone is wondering if he is right about Austin jumping to the WWF and for the purposes of that, they have to consider that notion complete B.S. because all of them fight for the highest stakes they’ve ever fought for, and he says that they are fighting for survival and will lay it all on the line as he has chosen them to compete in this match. He says that them joining this team will honor the WWF and he wants them to go out there and do it as they leave.

On the 11/8 Smackdown, Austin confronted the Alliance in the ring who reassured him they trust him until Tazz confronted Austin who beat him down with the Alliance leaving him and Austin would take that as none of them were defecting, and Austin would also confront the rest of Team Alliance if they are on his side while the other members accused each other. That same night, Rock defeated Booker by DQ when RVD got involved and he laid Booker out only for Rock to take RVD out and Jericho would hit Rock with a chair, and Vince would also give Show his spot on Team WWF while Taker defeated Austin and Angle in a handicap match which saw Austin give both Taker and Angle the Stunner. On the 11/12 RAW, the Alliance again confronted Austin as Shane assured everyone that no one was defecting from the Alliance and RVD would defeat Taker thanks to Booker, and Vince would again try to convince Rock and Jericho to work together as Rock and Austin had a confrontation at the end of the night which saw the two sing “Margaritaville” until they brawled with Rock and Jericho standing tall against Austin and Angle. On the 11/15 Smackdown, RVD defeated Kane and Booker defeated Taker in separate matches as Shane would hit Show with a chair after his match, and Rock and Jericho would defeat Austin and Angle by DQ which led to a brawl with Austin standing tall as Vince came out on the stage and they laughed together.

The crowd was red hot for the whole match and popped for Rock when he won. Rock is the sole survivor and the WWF has won the war as the Alliance is no more. Grade: 5

After the match, the WWF roster celebrates while the Alliance roster is left in shock and disbelief as Rock celebrates in the ring, and then Vince McMahon comes out on the stage and takes his jacket off as he raises his arms in victory and we go off the air.

Final Analysis: Overall, this PPV ended up being a really great show as we officially bring an end to the invasion angle with the WWF coming out on top. Both brands have gone back and forth with each other since this all started back on May 29th and now after months of title changes, roster switches, and debuts, we finally have a clear cut winner in the war. We did have a few title matches as Edge, the Dudleyz, Christian, and Stratus leave as champions while Regal, Test, Rock, Jericho, Taker, Kane, and Show get big wins, and in terms of the matches the main event was easily the best with the unification matches behind it while the rest ranged from solid to average with nothing being bad. 2001 has been a great year for the WWF and the invasion has dominated most of it throughout the summer and fall, and now we will see what happens as we come to the end of the year and look ahead to 2002. As for this show, it is a great show that brings an end to the Invasion as the WWF survives and the Alliance is dead. Final Grade: A-
